About Amesbury Carnival
Amesbury Carnival has taken place, on and off, for over fifty years - bringing the community together both on Carnival day and the many events leading up in the days before. Some of the last Carnivals were the biggest events in the county, attracting dozens of floats, who paraded through town in style, as well as thousands of attendees on the showground for a spectacular day out - not to mention the many events leading up to the big day.
Sadly, with the onset of COVID, the event has not taken place since 2019 - where it was replaced with Amesbury SuperFete. Born out of lockdown and the cancellation of the Amesbury Carnival due to COVID, Amesbury Super Fete was a free community event run by volunteers from The Amesbury Carnival Association, with support from The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade.

The purpose of Super Fete was to put on a free community day out, to provide entertainment to residents of Amesbury, support local businesses and most importantly - boost community spirit!

Now, in 2025, in both the spirits of Carnival AND SuperFete, we are glad to announce the return of Amesbury Carnival & Show (complete with procession!) - now BIGGER and BETTER! This years event will see the largest showground in the events history, with a huge funfair, dog show, car boot, market area, lots of free interactive showground entertainment and of course some nationally aclaimed acts performing the main arenas.

Carnival 2025 (and preceeding SuperFete events) is organised by a (very small) army of around half a dozen volunteers, who commit a considerable amount of their own time in putting on the event. Many of these volunteers also help organise the other community events that take place throughout the year, such as the Festive Fayre, Duck Race, Pudsey Walk, Santa Sleigh Runs, Gala Dinner, Quiz Night and Easter Bunny Visit - to name a few! Some are also business owners who sponsor activities, provide infrastructure, or donate funds to the event.
Volunteers are something that both the Amesbury Carnival Committee and Stonehenge Chamber Events Team are short on, both groups welcome involvement from anyone willing to help organise events or help on the day. For more information, please contact us via the form below.
